Easy Way to Save on Baby Supplies
Before we start, here’s a money saving tip for new and expecting parents that can help you save money every time you buy something for your baby.
What’s the tip?
Join these baby rewards programs!
Through these programs, you earn points or cash for every dollar you spend on any baby product. You can then use your earning to get cash, gift cards or store credit to buy more supplies.
If you shop for baby products, you’d be crazy not to sign up for these free rewards programs. It would be like refusing discounts or free baby products.
1. Look at the price per unit
Get into the habit of calculating the unit price – so the price per diaper.
Since package sizes vary widely, doing this is an easy way to make sure you get the best deal on diapers and wipes.
You can just use your phone to divide the cost of the pack by the number of diapers or wipes inside.
One pack might only be $7 for example and another pack is $14.
The $7 pack seems like a better price.
Advertisements
But, if you are paying more per diaper or wipe, it’s not the best deal.
So work out the cost per unit and then you will know which pack saves you money and which one to pass on!
2. Find Diapers on sales with Flipp
Stores often have great deals available on diapers and wipes, but it’s easy to miss them.
That’s why we love Flipp.
Flipp is a great app that lets you view weekly ads, circulars, coupons and deals all in one place. And that makes it one of the best apps that save you money.
It claims to save you up to 50% on your weekly shopping.
So download the app and make sure that you never miss out on a deal again!
Here’s where to get the Flipp app:
3. Stockpile when you get a good deal
Whenever you see a great deal on wipes or diapers stockpile!
This can really lower your cost per unit and save you a lot of money in the long-run.
However, stockpile with caution when it comes to diapers.
Baby’s grow quickly, so don’t stock up too much on one size, especially the smaller sizes.
Stocking up on sizes three and four is a safe bet, generally speaking. It’s not necessarily a great idea to stock up on newborn and size one though, because baby’s do outgrow these diapers pretty quickly.
Of course, all babies are different when it comes to size, so just use your best judgment when deciding what sizes to stock up on.
And, if you do end up with diapers that your baby no longer fits into, take the pack back to the store where you purchased it. They may let you exchange it for a bigger size, which brings us to our next tip.
4. Open diaper packs one at a time
Only open one pack of diapers at a time. Otherwise, if you do have leftovers of one size that your baby has grown out of, then you can take them back.
Stores won’t allow you to return open packages – so you won’t be able to exchange them for a bigger size.
So, only open one package of diapers at a time.
5. Use free gift cards to save
We all like getting free gift cards. But how do you get them?
Through rewards sites.

Check out stores like:
- Costco

- Walmart
- Sam’s Club
At these stores, you can often get big boxes of diapers and wipes that work out cheaper per unit than smaller packs.
Just always keep the cost per unit in mind, as we mentioned above, to ensure you get the best deal.
7. Use coupon sites to save money on diapers and wipes
One of the best ways to save money on diapers and wipes is to use coupons.
Coupons can save you 50% or more in some cases!

11. Buy from different brands to get the best deal
Buying from the same brand all the time works well.
But, it’s not always the most effective way to get the best deals.
If you’re willing to switch brands though, you could save more money.
Consider buying diapers or wipes from the brand that costs the least amount of money. This could be generic or store-brand diapers.
Or, it could be the diaper brand that’s on sale when you’re shopping.
For example, you might normally buy diapers from Huggies, but the Pampers ones are on sale, making them cheaper per unit than the Huggies ones.
Of course, switching brands isn’t always best for the baby.
Diapers that leak or don’t fit well can be uncomfortable for your child and could result in diaper rash. So always put your baby’s health first. If you notice that your child is sensitive or allergic to a particular type of diaper, then discontinue use.
After all, your baby’s health is your number one priority and you can always use our other tips to save money on the diapers and wipes that you usually buy, rather than switching out products from your preferred brand.

36. Compare the cost of cloth to disposable diapers
Online, the go-to tip for saving money on diapers seems to be, switch to cloth.
But, cloth diapers don’t work for everyone.
To start with, disposable diapers are much easier, tidier and more convenient than cloth ones.
Some people argue though that they’re cheaper overall. While for some people, cloth diapers do work out cheaper, it’s not always the case.
Since cloth diapers require frequent washings and dryings, you’re using more electricity and water, meaning your utility bills could increase. And, the detergent you use to wash them is another thing that will cost you money.
So, you really have to weigh up whether that increased cost would be worth it or not.
Plus, for many, the time spent cleaning cloth diapers just doesn’t work for their schedule.
If you do want to switch over to cloth diapers though, as you don’t mind the extra effort, just make sure you compare the cost of them utility-wise against the cost of disposable ones.
Cloth diapers could work out cheaper for you, but they’re not for everyone.
37. Sign up for store rewards program and loyalty cards and earn free baby stuff
Many stores have rewards programs and loyalty cards that give you points or cashback when you shop.

Online printable coupons from websites like Coupons com can save you money. However, you must use computer paper and ink to print the coupons, which costs money and wastes paper. Many people print every online coupon available, and then throw most of them away. Print online coupons as you need them, to use during store sales.
