How to Make $3,000 Dollars Fast
Here’s how you can get $3,000 in a month, week, or even in a day!
1. Do some Freelance writing
If you’re gifted with grammar and are good at researching, being a freelance writer could be a great option for you. You could earn $3,000 pretty fast with this one, provided you can find enough jobs and get enough work done of course.
Freelance writers get paid to create content like blog posts, articles, and books for clients.
Here are some writing websites that pay:
You can also use sites like UpWork and PeoplePerHour to find private clients.
Most freelance jobs pay per word. This means that if you can write fast, you can earn money very quickly.
Pay varies from as little as $0.01 per word to as much as $0.10 per word or even more than that.
Hourly pay for freelancers $12 to $58 an hour, and $23 an hour on average.
Some places pay per article like Verblio, for example, where pay starts at $10.50 for a 300 to 400 word post. So, again, if you’re a fast writer and get a lot of articles done quickly, you could rake in a couple $1,000 in no time!

As a Rideshare driver, you get paid to give lifts to people.

Uber drivers earn anywhere from $3 to $35 an hour with the average income being $15 an hour.
Lyft drivers earn $3 to $43 an hour with the average income being $16 an hour.
Because both Lyft and Uber have a feature you can use to get paid the same day, working for these companies as a rideshare driver is one of your best options if you’re wanting to make $3,000 fast.
This feature isn’t free, costing $0.50 per cash out, but it allows you to get your money fast.
3. Sell your clothes
One of the best ways to get money quickly is to sell your clothes. Many of us have clothes that we don’t wear.
In fact, people only wear around 20% of their wardrobe! You may as well sell your unwanted clothing for some quick cash. Sure, you’re not going to get $3k from selling your clothes alone, but you could rake in a few $100 to add to the fund!
Here are some great sites for selling your clothes:
4. Deliver food
Food delivery companies will pay you for delivering food from local restaurants and other eateries to people’s homes.
Here are some companies that pay you to deliver food:

Working with food delivery apps like DoorDash and the others above can be a good way to earn money fast.
5. Sell courses online
If you are knowledgeable about a particular topic, then you might consider creating a course about it and selling it online. You could create a course about writing, gardening, painting, or cooking, for example.
Here’s where you can sell your courses:
Pay varies depending on the number of courses you sell and how much each one sells for. Some people make $1,000s a month selling courses online. So, this could be a great way to bring in extra cash.

7. Be a data entry clerk

8. Deliver groceries with Instacart and Shipt
Instacart and Shipt are food grocery delivery companies that pay you to shop for and deliver groceries to customers’ homes.
Shipt requires you to have a vehicle in order to make your deliveries. But, Instacart actually also has an In-Store Shopper role that only requires you to shop for groceries and prepare them for the customer to collect. So, you don’t need a car to work for Instacart.
With Shipt, you can earn anywhere from $16 to $22 an hour.
Pay for Instacart depends on the role.
- Instacart Full-Service Shoppers earn $2 to $30 an hour. Average pay is $12 an hour.

9. Do some overtime
If you already have a fulltime job, a simple way to make extra money is to do some overtime. Pick up some extra hours to bring in more money.
You could pick up additional shifts or work overtime. Depending on how much you earn per hour, if your job offers time and a half or double time, and how many hours and days you work, there’s the potential to earn $1,000s extra.
I will say that you should definitely make sure you take taxes into account. This is because when you earn more, you usually pay extra tax. You want to make sure that the extra amount that you pay in tax doesn’t cut into your profits so much that the extra hours you worked weren’t worth it financially.
10. Try affiliate marketing
What’s good about affiliate marketing is that it allows you to make money selling stuff, without you having to actually handle any products yourself.
With affiliate marketing, you join an affiliate program and get affiliate links for products. You can get affiliate links in basically every category you could think of from clothing to electronics.
Then, you post your affiliate links online in places like:
- Videos
- Landing pages
- Blog posts
- Newsletters
- A product resources page
- A comparison review site
- Social media posts
When someone clicks on one of your affiliate links, they’re taken to the product page as they normally would be. Then, if they make a purchase, you get a commission on the sale.
Here are some affiliate marketing programs to consider:
This is a pretty simple way to make cash. It does require effort though, as you will need to drive traffic to your affiliate links. Once the links are out there though, you’ll be able to make money passively!
11. Try retail arbitrage
With retail arbitrage, you purchase an item and sell it for a profit.
For example, you could purchase a pair of shoes for 50% off. You pay $50 for the shoes instead of $100. Then you resell the shoes for $80, making a $30 profit on the sale. The customer still saves 20% off the RRP.
You can purchase discounted products at places like:
- The thrift store
- The dollar store
- The clearance section of any store
- TJ MAXX
- Marshalls
- Ross
- Garage sales/yard sales
And, you could also considering getting free stuff from sites like Craigslist and OfferUp, and resell them for a 100% profit.
Once you have purchased your discounted items, or have gotten free items from Craigslist or OfferUp, you can sell them online.
Here are some places to sell stuff:

Another really easy way to make some extra money is to upload photos of your receipt to a website or app that pays you for your receipts. This certainly won’t make you $3k. It will, however, add a little extra cash to your pocket.
Here are some apps that pay you for your receipts:
With many apps, all you usually need to do to get paid is upload a photo of your receipt. However, some apps, like Ibotta and Checkout51, do require you to purchase specific items in order to get paid.
For example, there might be an offer available where you can get $2 back when you purchase Bounty paper towels. So, you’d need to purchase the paper towels, and scan your receipt to show that you’ve purchased them. Then, you’ll get a rebate.
Other apps, like Receipt Hog and ReceiptPal, don’t require you purchase any specific products. Instead, these apps simply pay you for any itemized receipt.

With Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), anyone can write and upload a book for sale on Amazon.
You can publish both fiction and non-fiction books through KDP. So, if you would love to write a novel, then you could publish your own fiction book. Or you could write a non-fiction book if you prefer to write something like a how-to guide or instruction manual. You could make $100 or so extra a month, and some writers even make a full-time living selling their books with KDP.
You can earn up to 70% in royalties.
Once you put a book up for sale, you can keep making money from it over and over again. So, this can be a good passive income stream.

If you need $3,000 fast, then it’s worth checking if you have an unclaimed money anywhere. You could have money out there that’s just sitting unclaimed. This can include:
- Unclaimed Tax Refund Checks: The IRS has millions of dollars in tax refunds that go unclaimed each year. There are many reasons why tax refunds go unclaimed. This could be because, for example, a person moved and forgot to update their address at the IRS. So, their check is mailed to their last known address. You can find the contact details for the IRS here.
