We're giant pandas, those big, cuddly bears you might have seen. Our favorite thing in the whole wide world? Bamboo! It's our yummy snack that we eat almost all day, every day. Bamboo forests in China are our homes, where we have endless supplies of these tasty green sticks. Bamboo is super important to us because it helps us grow strong and stay healthy. So, whenever you see bamboo, think of us happily munching away in our beautiful forest home!

Pandas are found in the bamboo forests of central China and are known for their love of bamboo, which makes up the majority of their diet. They are also excellent climbers and swimmers.
Pandas are an important species for conservation efforts, as they are considered endangered due to habitat loss and poaching. Efforts to protect and preserve pandas in the wild have been successful in recent years, with their population slowly increasing.

Did you know: For quite awhile scientists
have debated about whether a panda is a bear or a raccoon as it shares
characteristics of both.
Giant pandas (large black and white animals from China) are part of
the bear family -- their closest relative is the
Spectacled Bear.
Red pandas (smaller red and white animals, also from China) are the
last remaining animals in their family -- all of their relatives are
extinct. Red pandas do share a lot of traits with the raccoon
family and the bear family but they belong to their own family, the
Ailuridae.
