I agree, Dojo. Programming isn’t easy to learn, which is why you could make good money as a programmer.

A teen can learn to slice Photoshop files first and create HTML/CSS templates. Web design is easier to learn (especially if you have some talent) and is VERY lucrative. The teen can then get more specialized (get into programming) or stick to design, if it’s something he/she likes better. I’d probably encourage my daughter towards this route. Or blogging (even if it takes a lot of effort and time to earn a revenue from a blog).
