Comments on: Savingstar Review: Scam or a Legit App to Save & Get Rebates on Groceries? https://moneypantry.com/savingstar-review/ Thu, 22 Feb 2024 17:13:59 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.2 By: Petra Teeter https://moneypantry.com/savingstar-review/#comment-31897 Wed, 21 Oct 2020 18:34:03 +0000 https://moneypantry.com/?p=11858#comment-31897 I’ve had this app for 6 years and it is NOT hassle free. If you don’t constantly check you will not notice how many rebates don’t get credited to your account. The receipts go through fine and the products scan and show as eligible, but you never receive the credit. The same with the auto-connected stores. You must spend a lot of time checking the receipt of your rebates.

When you have to contact customer service it takes them a while to answer. Today I received an answer from what I assume was a robot response OR whoever answered didn’t read the one sentence of my problem.

The problem is that they forget to add UPS codes for eligible products on their end when it comes to crediting you the rebate. Your correct product will scan when you submit the receipt, but on their end (since the forgot to add the UPC) the system just rejects it and doesn’t give you credit.

Their solution: After 1 1/2 months I am supposed to gather my eligible receipts and circle the eligible products. REALLY???? Do you keep your grocery receipts that long AND can remember which rebates Savingstar provided during that time?
