They pose as workers for government organizations or use Health and Human Services saying that we help millions of people every year. The scammers also use the government logos and certificates or government official names. They request payment in Apple gift cards and American gift cards. Claiming that you have been approved after checking running your name through a data base.

The 419 scam is still going on in Nigeria (and Africa at large). The now use different formats to scam their victims. One of the most popular formats now is the crypto trading format, where a scammer claims to be a vendor. They create some sorts of websites, and encourage prospects to invest their money on them.

It’s unfortunate that people still fall victims of such scams.

First the FBI never calls you. Second , the people running this scam will never call the police or FBI. Because they would be in trouble and that they do not want.
What u want TO DO IS NEVER ANSWER ANYONE AGAIN THAT WANTS YOU TO TURN MONEY TO SOMEONE ELSE
SIMPLE.

a company called Walletsarethebest.com. Reported them to my bank credit card shut down, and fraud department investigating. Also reported to the FBI. I called the number on the bank statement from PA the answering machine said to leave a number and they would call me back, 20 minutes later I get a call asking me about the watch from Danville CA, I told them I had gotten the wrong watch, I had picked out a chromatic style watch and received a plain mans watch. I didn’t link the call to the PA callback until later, then realized that they had gotten my credit card number from this survey. That is why you send them a check or use Pay Pal, never, never a credit card.

But its heart breaking when you know you have been cheated. I was caught up in a scam with bitsane last year that cost me BTC. This guys came up with a fake story of being hacked when it was actually an insider affair. Luckily i was able to track and recover my funds.

This “friend” was a scammer through and through, and later falsely accused an sued her employer, who was a minor celebrity and wealthy. I am leaving out a lot, because there were a lot of other unethical things she said and did. Luckily I am a very suspicious person, so I kept my defenses up until I was able to slowly freeze her out.

So sorry that happened to you Ashley! Typically anytime someone demands payment in bitcoin, I’d say it is most likely a scam!
