Hi Sarge, I’m so glad you noticed the red flags and shredded that check! That is 100% a scam. I don’t think you need to take any other steps other than shredding that check. The scammers can’t get your money if you don’t deposit the check. No reputable car wrap company will randomly send out checks to people.

Hello,
Just got my check from someone who wants to wrap my car.

The check was from Elio Brothers Landscape, LLC out of Florida but mailed from GILEAD Sciences Inc in California.

I think this is BS because they don’t know squat about me or the type and year of my vehicle. So, what should be my next step other than shredding it?

Yes, the companies we listed in the post (like Wrapify & Carvertise) are the real companies that pay you to put decals (ads) on your car. They each have certain requirements (car make and model, how often you drive, where you live, etc) but they are all legitimate car advertising companies.

It’s vitally important for me. I’m 64, I’m not supposed to work, but I’m going to have to. I only make $804.00 a month SSI/SSD, which is what I live on. It’s not enough to even survive. My bills alone each month are, $740.00. Now my sister, whom I live with, says I have to start paying rent. I need for this car decal job to work as I’m having a horrible time finding work I can do from home remotely.
I have great skills, type 90 wpm, data entry 10000 kspm, 25 years customer service, 30 years sales. But standing hurts my back. I have many disabilities in my body to do a steady regular job anywhere. I thought remote work would be the way to go, but no luck there accept Vector Marketing, selling knifes/customer service online. I want to do the decal, but my car is 2004, toyota matrix 4 dr sedan hatchback. The paint job isn’t that great on top of the car, but the body is good. I don’t know what to do, I’m concerned about my bills right now. Need advice and help! Sorry this is so long.

I was contacted by Venom energy drink. They promised to pay me $700 a week. They also said they would send me a check for $3700 but I have to pay $3000 to a company to place a small window advertising on the back of my car
