Thanks for sharing your experience, Adriana. Generic brands usually have the exact same ingredients so it just doesn’t make sense to pay more for brand names. But yes, doctors and pharmacies are usually pressed by the pharmaceutical companies to push brand name drugs.

Often times, pharmacies insist you try brand name drugs, saying they’re better and have a quicker effect and so on, but the first time I fell for this was also my last.

Instead of buying a $4 paracetamol supply, I paid $12 for some new brand name I haven’t even heard of, because the lady at the pharmacy recommended it like it was gold. It didn’t make matters worse.. but it didn’t help either! Lesson learned.
