Hi John, The information I found showed that the company Onfido was involved in the class action suit, not OfferUp. Onfido was contracted by Offerup to do the ID verifications. I couldn’t find any info on whether Offerup has switched to another vendor for the verifications or not. Great info, thank you for sharing with us!

They didn’t ask permission to do that nor did they state it in their terms of service either.

So by signing up for them and scanning your DL in, this company has already proven that they are not trustable with that. Please be aware of this. If anyone doubts it then google search this without the quotes, there is plenty of info about it: “Offerup Onfido”

Hi Donna, typically if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t. While you can find some great deals on Offerup, a deal like that certainly sounds fishy. Be sure to do your research and be careful when meeting a potential buyer or seller.

It is a name brand so I am concerned that it is a scam or not. Could this deal be for real?

Hi Eunice! If they aren’t designer items, I would worry about having them appraised. You can search for similar items on the app, and price yours competitively with the items already listed by others. Good luck selling your items!

How can I find out what price to sell them for? None are very high end designers but most are new, very good quality, have never been worn and are in great condition. Maybe 1 or 2 have been slightly worn, only once. (on vacation).

I don’t remember what I paid for them when I bought them. Is there someplace I can take them to have them appraised?

Your assistance will greatly appreciated. Thank You,
