The Daintree Rainforest is the largest rainforest in Australia and the oldest rainforest in the world. Some of the plants and animals trace back to prehistoric times and the region is said to be 165 million years old! The name “rainforest” hints at the heavy amount of precipitation these regions recieve each year. The hot and humid climate makes it possible for the many unique plant and animal species to thrive.
